REPAIR IN 15 MINUTES
- Follow all utility safety procedures
- Identify cracked or split areas of crossarm
- Locate the 'hinge point' of the split - the place where the wood begins to split.
- Add a clamp at the hinge point.
- Use power drill and open ended wrench to tighten nuts to bolts on clamp.
- Install additional clamps at intervals of 18" to 24" along the split with one clamp at the end of the cross arm. If the split length is less than 24", you may only need a clamp at the hinge point and the end of the crossarm.
- Tighten bolts for each clamp.
- Cut off excess bolt length and pound bolt end with hammer to prevent nuts from loosening.
- The process is complete.
